Being Bad...

  • Jul. 7th, 2009 at 12:43 AM

So I decided I want a Regency dress. Joann has some super clearance priced silver silk that I'm going to get tomorrow. I've decided. :] I just can't work on it until I get back from the Athenaeum, but that's not too bad.

I know I definitely want it to have long sleeves. But I'm not sure about the neckline. I think I want to stick with early to mid Regency, and definitely nothing after 1815. So I'm going to though some pictures up here and get my thoughts out.

Cute ruffle!!! But I definitely want the neckline lower...

This is so cute!!!! I'm definitely doing those cuffed sleeves. But the skirt and waistline are definitely late Regency. The V-neck is cute though...

V-neck with ruffles! But would a V-neck look good with long sleeves?

This is so cute and sweet. I love the lace with the rounded neckline.

Hm... Maybe I like the more rounded neckline more. With some kind of cute ruffle. Yes. I'm excited!!

Getting Closer...

Whipped up a summer bow for the gold silk dress. It goes quite well, even with the black velvet trim already on the dress. There's plenty of ribbon left to make a few bows that can be pinned into my hair. All these accessories make me excited for when the reenacting season starts. I'm going to feel fresh and pretty!

So... gold silk dress today. It needs the most work, second to the green sheer, but I did the green sheer in a day so I'm not worried. I almost got an entire drawer leg done yesterday during rehearsal! BTW, if anyone is in the OC area, come see the show! My friend wrote it and we're all helping him out by being in it. Should be very good, we just need and audience!

The only thing that's really bothering me is the green plaid wool dress. The bodice was too small. So I have to make an entirely new bodice for it, minus the sleeves. I actually think I can use the back and just recut the front, but we'll see. At least I don't have to worry about this dress until at least September, and maybe even November depending on the weather.

Today I'll be buying the Regency silk. Yay!

I'll be in Tennessee Friday evening! Eep! :-D
