Somehow, I entered Joann's with the intention of buying silk for the 1890s dress, and left with yellow cotton eyelet for a 40s skirt instead...

My lack of logic and reason astound me. :]

But at least I'll have an ADORABLE 40s summer outfit haha!

And then I'll do more work on the red silk dress. I put another flounce on one sleeve, and have half of the sleeve flounce hemmed. Luckily, I'll have a long boat ride and lots of lounging time this weekend (hello, Catalina trip) to finish the flounce and do more work on the skirt. I plan to do a right proper hem facing on this skirt, and I have some brown cotton calico for it, from a very old wash dress.
