For my birthday in April, the boy (who requests to be herein referred to as "the man") is getting me some delicious plaid silk, and here's the dress I want to make out of it. I also plan on having a white voile waist to wear underneath it and other low neck, short sleeved dresses (I already have the voile). I'm making as many younger-style dresses as I can before it's too late!



I'm still not sure about the sleeves, except that I want them short! I absolutely love the purple dress in this fashion  plate:



It looks like the "sleeves" are formed by tabs of fabric that go around the whole neckline. Hmm... My only qualm is that without the waist underneath, it will look too much like a ball gown... But I LOVE that dress!
